Dear fellow believer let us see what the Bible says about courtesy or meekness

KJV - King James Version
BBE - Bible in Basic English (1949/1964)
GW - GOD'S WORD Translation
AMP - Amplified Bible

I Peter 3:15:

KJV But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
BBE But give honour to Christ in your hearts as your Lord; and be ready at any time when you are questioned about the hope which is in you, to give an answer in the fear of the Lord and without pride;
GW But dedicate your lives to Christ as Lord. Always be ready to defend your confidence [in God] when anyone asks you to explain it. However, make your defense with gentleness and respect.
AMP But in your hearts set Christ apart as holy [and acknowledge Him] as Lord. Always be ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope that is in you, but do it courteously and respectfully.

James 3:13:

KJV Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
BBE Who has wisdom and good sense among you? let him make his works clear by a life of gentle wisdom.
GW Do any of you have wisdom and insight? Show this by living the right way with the humility that comes from wisdom.
AMP Who is there among you who is wise and intelligent? Then let him by his noble living show forth his [good] works with the [unobtrusive] humility [which is the proper attribute] of true wisdom.

James 1:21:

KJV Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
BBE For this reason, putting away all dirty behaviour and the overweight of evil, take into your souls without pride the word which, being planted there, is able to give you salvation.
GW So get rid of all immoral behavior and all the wicked things you do. Humbly accept the word that God has placed in you. This word can save you.
AMP So get rid of all uncleanness and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble (gentle, modest) spirit receive {and} welcome the Word which implanted {and} rooted [in your hearts] contains the power to save your souls.

Titus 3:2:

KJV To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
BBE To say no evil of any man, not to be fighters, to give way to others, to be gentle in behaviour to all men.
GW Believers shouldn't curse anyone or be quarrelsome, but they should be gentle and show courtesy to everyone.
AMP To slander {or} abuse {or} speak evil of no one, to avoid being contentious, to be forbearing (yielding, gentle, and conciliatory), and to show unqualified courtesy toward everybody.

II Timothy 2:25:

KJV In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
BBE Gently guiding those who go against the teaching; if by chance God may give them a change of heart and true knowledge,
GW He must be gentle in correcting those who oppose the Good News. Maybe God will allow them to change the way they think and act and lead them to know the truth.
AMP He must correct his opponents with courtesy {and} gentleness, in the hope that God may grant that they will repent and come to know the Truth [that they will perceive and recognize and become accurately acquainted with and acknowledge it],

I Timothy 6:11:

KJV But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
BBE But you, O man of God, keep yourself from these things, and go after righteousness, religion, faith, love, a quiet mind, gentle behaviour.
GW But you, man of God, must avoid these things. Pursue what God approves of: a godly life, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.
AMP But as for you, O man of God, flee from all these things; aim at {and} pursue righteousness (right standing with God and true goodness), godliness (which is the loving fear of God and being Christlike), faith, love, steadfastness (patience), and gentleness of heart.

Colossians 3:12:

KJV Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
BBE As saints of God, then, holy and dearly loved, let your behaviour be marked by pity and mercy, kind feeling, a low opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, and a power of undergoing all things;
GW As holy people whom God has chosen and loved, be sympathetic, kind, humble, gentle, and patient.
AMP Clothe yourselves therefore, as God's own chosen ones (His own picked representatives), [who are] purified {and} holy and well-beloved [by God Himself, by putting on behavior marked by] tenderhearted pity {and} mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, [and] patience [which is tireless and long-suffering, and has the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper].

Ephesians 4:2:

KJV With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
BBE With all gentle and quiet behaviour, taking whatever comes, putting up with one another in love;
GW Be humble and gentle in every way. Be patient with each other and lovingly accept each other.
AMP Living as becomes you] with complete lowliness of mind (humility) and meekness (unselfishness, gentleness, mildness), with patience, bearing with one another {and} making allowances because you love one another.

Galatians 5:22-23

KJV But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
BBE But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, a quiet mind, kind acts, well-doing, faith, Gentle behaviour, control over desires: against such there is no law.
GW But the spiritual nature produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There are no laws against things like that.
AMP But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].
