KJV - King James Version
BBE - Bible in Basic English (1949/1964)
GW - GOD'S WORD Translation
AMP - Amplified Bible

Leviticus 19:16:

KJV Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD.
BBE Do not go about saying untrue things among your people, or take away the life of your neighbour by false witness: I am the Lord.
GW Never gossip. Never endanger your neighbor's life. I am the LORD.
AMP You shall not go up and down as a dispenser of gossip {and} scandal among your people, nor shall you [secure yourself by false testimony or by silence and] endanger the life of your neighbor. I am the Lord.

Proverbs 11:13:

KJV A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
BBE He who goes about talking of others makes secrets public, but the true-hearted man keeps things covered.
GW Whoever gossips gives away secrets, but whoever is trustworthy in spirit can keep a secret.
AMP He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy {and} faithful in spirit keeps the matter hidden.

Proverbs 16:28:

KJV A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
BBE A man of twisted purposes is a cause of fighting everywhere: and he who says evil secretly makes trouble between friends.
GW A devious person spreads quarrels. A gossip separates the closest of friends.
AMP A perverse man sows strife, and a whisperer separates close friends.

Proverbs 18:8:

KJV The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
BBE The words of one who says evil of his neighbour secretly are like sweet food, and go down into the inner parts of the stomach.
GW The words of a gossip are swallowed greedily, and they go down into a person's innermost being.
AMP The words of a whisperer {or} talebearer are as dainty morsels; they go down into the innermost parts of the body.

Proverbs 20:19:

KJV He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.
BBE He who goes about talking of the business of others gives away secrets: so have nothing to do with him whose lips are open wide.
GW Whoever goes around as a gossip tells secrets. Do not associate with a person whose mouth is always open.
AMP He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets; therefore associate not with him who talks too freely.

Proverbs 26:20:

KJV Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.
BBE Without wood, the fire goes out; and where there is no secret talk, argument is ended.
GW Without wood a fire goes out, and without gossip a quarrel dies down.
AMP For lack of wood the fire goes out, and where there is no whisperer, contention ceases.

I Timothy 3:11:

KJV Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
BBE Women are to be serious in behaviour, saying no evil of others, controlling themselves, true in all things.
GW Their wives must also be of good character. They must not be gossips, but they must control their tempers and be trustworthy in every way.
AMP [The] women likewise must be worthy of respect {and} serious, not gossipers, but temperate {and} self-controlled, [thoroughly] trustworthy in all things.

I Timothy 5:13:

KJV And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
BBE And they get into the way of doing no work, going about from house to house; and not only doing no work, but talking foolishly, being over-interested in the business of others, saying things which they have no right to say.
GW At the same time, they learn to go around from house to house since they have nothing else to do. Not only this, but they also gossip and get involved in other people's business, saying things they shouldn't say.
AMP Moreover, as they go about from house to house, they learn to be idlers, and not only idlers, but gossips and busybodies, saying what they should not say {and} talking of things they should not mention.

Titus 2:3:

KJV The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
BBE That old women are to be self-respecting in behaviour, not saying evil of others, not given to taking much wine, teachers of that which is good,
GW Tell older women to live their lives in a way that shows they are dedicated to God. Tell them not to be gossips or addicted to alcohol, but to be examples of virtue.
AMP Bid the older women similarly to be reverent {and} devout in their deportment as becomes those engaged in sacred service, not slanderers or slaves to drink. They are to give good counsel {and} be teachers of what is right {and} noble,

Looking at these verses we see that we should never gossip. If we gossip we will never enter into God's authority.
