Dear fellow believer let us see what the Bible tells us about counseling.

KJV - King James Version
BBE - Bible in Basic English (1949/1964)
GW - GOD'S WORD Translation
AMP - Amplified Bible

Isaiah 9:6:

KJV For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
BBE For to us a child has come, to us a son is given; and the government has been placed in his hands; and he has been named Wise Guide, Strong God, Father for ever, Prince of Peace.
GW A child will be born for us. A son will be given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. He will be named: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
AMP For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity], Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 28:29:

KJV This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working.
BBE This comes from the Lord of armies, purposing wonders, and wise in all his acts.
GW All of this has come from the LORD of Armies. His counsel is wonderful, and his wisdom is great.
AMP This also comes from the Lord of hosts, Who is wonderful in counsel [and] excellent in wisdom {and} effectual working.

Psalms 16:7:

KJV I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
BBE I will give praise to the Lord who has been my guide; knowledge comes to me from my thoughts in the night.
GW I will praise the LORD, who advises me. My conscience warns me at night.
AMP I will bless the Lord, Who has given me counsel; yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.

Psalms 73:24:

KJV Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
BBE Your wisdom will be my guide, and later you will put me in a place of honour.
GW With your advice you guide me, and in the end you will take me to glory.
AMP You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to honor {and} glory.

Psalms 119:24:

KJV Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.
BBE Your unchanging word is my delight, and the guide of my footsteps.
GW Indeed, your written instructions make me happy. They are my best friends.
AMP Your testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.

Proverbs 19:20:

KJV Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
BBE Let your ear be open to suggestion and take teaching, so that at the end you may be wise.
GW Listen to advice and accept discipline so that you may be wise the rest of your life.
AMP Hear counsel, receive instruction, {and} accept correction, that you may be wise in the time to come.

Proverbs 19:21:

KJV There are many devices in a man' heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
BBE A man's heart may be full of designs, but the purpose of the Lord is unchanging.
GW Many plans are in the human heart, but the advice of the LORD will endure.
AMP Many plans are in a man's mind, but it is the Lord's purpose for him that will stand.

Hebrews 6:17:

KJV Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
BBE So that when it was God's desire to make it specially clear to those who by his word were to have the heritage, that his purpose was fixed, he made it more certain with an oath;
GW God wouldn't change his plan. He wanted to make this perfectly clear to those who would receive his promise, so he took an oath.
AMP Accordingly God also, in His desire to show more convincingly {and} beyond doubt to those who were to inherit the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose {and} plan, intervened (mediated) with an oath.

Looking at these verses we see that God is our counselor and He wants us to come to Him for counseling.
