Dear fellow believer let us see what the Bible tells us about being thankful.

KJV - King James Version
BBE - Bible in Basic English (1949/1964)
GW - GOD'S WORD Translation
AMP - Amplified Bible

Hebrews 12:28:

KJV Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
BBE If then, we have a kingdom which will never be moved, let us have grace, so that we may give God such worship as is pleasing to him with fear and respect:
GW Therefore, we must be thankful that we have a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Because we are thankful, we must serve God with fear and awe in a way that pleases him.
AMP Let us therefore, receiving a kingdom that is firm {and} stable {and} cannot be shaken, offer to God pleasing service {and} acceptable worship, with modesty {and} pious care and godly fear {and} awe;

Colossians 3:15:

KJV And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
BBE And let the peace of Christ be ruling in your hearts, as it was the purpose of God for you to be one body; and give praise to God at all times.
GW Also, let Christ's peace control you. God has called you into this peace by bringing you into one body. Be thankful.
AMP And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ's] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always].

Psalms 100:4:

KJV Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
BBE Come into his doors with joy, and into his house with praise; give him honour, blessing his name.
GW Enter his gates with a song of thanksgiving. Come into his courtyards with a song of praise. Give thanks to him; praise his name.
AMP Enter into His gates with thanksgiving {and} a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful {and} say so to Him, bless {and} affectionately praise His name!

Psalms 9:1:

KJV I will praise thee , O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.
BBE I will give you praise, O Lord, with all my heart; I will make clear all the wonder of your works.
GW I will give [you] thanks, O LORD, with all my heart. I will tell about all the miracles you have done.
AMP I WILL praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will show forth (recount and tell aloud) all Your marvelous works {and} wonderful deeds!

Psalms 28:7:

KJV The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
BBE The Lord is my strength and my breastplate, my heart had faith in him and I am helped; for this cause my heart is full of rapture, and I will give him praise in my song.
GW The LORD is my strength and my shield. My heart trusted him, so I received help. My heart is triumphant; I give thanks to him with my song.
AMP The Lord is my Strength and my [impenetrable] Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, {and} confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him.

Psalms 45:17:

KJV I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.
BBE I will keep the memory of your name living through all generations; and because of this the people will give you praise for ever.
GW I will cause your name to be remembered throughout every generation. That is why the nations will give thanks to you forever and ever.
AMP I will make Your name to be remembered in all generations; therefore shall the people praise and give You thanks forever and ever.

Ephesians 5:20:

KJV Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
BBE Giving praise at all times for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father;
GW Always thank God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
AMP At all times and for everything giving thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.

Colossians 3:17:

KJV And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
BBE And whatever you do, in word or in act, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving praise to God the Father through him.
GW Everything you say or do should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
AMP And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus {and} in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him.

Looking at these verses we see that we as children of God have so mush to be thankful for. Let us just praise and give thanks to God the Father.
