Dear fellow believer let us see what the Bible tells us about family.

KJV - King James Version
BBE - Bible in Basic English (1949/1964)
GW - GOD'S WORD Translation
AMP - Amplified Bible

Romans 12:10:

KJV Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
BBE Be kind to one another with a brother's love, putting others before yourselves in honour;
GW Be devoted to each other like a loving family. Excel in showing respect for each other.
AMP Love one another with brotherly affection [as members of one family], giving precedence {and} showing honor to one another.

Galatians 6:10:

KJV As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
BBE So then, as we have the chance, let us do good to all men, and specially to those who are of the family of the faith.
GW Whenever we have the opportunity, we have to do what is good for everyone, especially for the family of believers.
AMP So then, as occasion {and} opportunity open up to us, let us do good [morally] to all people [not only being useful or profitable to them, but also doing what is for their spiritual good and advantage]. Be mindful to be a blessing, especially to those of the household of faith [those who belong to God's family with you, the believers].

Ephesians 2:18-20

KJV For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
BBE Because through him the two of us are able to come near in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer as those who have no part or place in the kingdom of God, but you are numbered among the saints, and of the family of God, Resting on the base of the Apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief keystone,
GW So Jewish and non-Jewish people can go to the Father in one Spirit. That is why you are no longer foreigners and outsiders but citizens together with God's people and members of God's family. You are built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets. Christ Jesus himself is the cornerstone.
AMP For it is through Him that we both [whether far off or near] now have an introduction (access) by one [Holy] Spirit to the Father [so that we are able to approach Him]. Therefore you are no longer outsiders (exiles, migrants, and aliens, excluded from the rights of citizens), but you now share citizenship with the saints (God's own people, consecrated and set apart for Himself); and you belong to God's [own] household. You are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus Himself the chief Cornerstone.

I Timothy 3:15:

KJV But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
BBE But if I am long in coming, this will make clear to you what behaviour is right for men in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and base of what is true.
GW in case I'm delayed. I want you to know how people who are members of God's family must live. God's family is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
AMP If I am detained, you may know how people ought to conduct themselves in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and stay (the prop and support) of the Truth.

I Timothy 5:4:

KJV But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.
BBE But if any widow has children or children's children, let these see that it is right to take care of their family and their fathers and mothers: for this is pleasing in the eyes of God.
GW The children or grandchildren of a widow must first learn to respect their own family by repaying their parents. This is pleasing in God's sight.
AMP But if a widow has children or grandchildren, see to it that these are first made to understand that it is their religious duty [to defray their natural obligation to those] at home, and make return to their parents {or} grandparents [for all their care by contributing to their maintenance], for this is acceptable in the sight of God.

I Timothy 5:8:

KJV But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
BBE If anyone has no care for his family and those in his house, he is false to the faith, and is worse than one who has no faith.
GW If anyone doesn't take care of his own relatives, especially his immediate family, he has denied the Christian faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
AMP If anyone fails to provide for his relatives, and especially for those of his own family, he has disowned the faith [by failing to accompany it with fruits] and is worse than an unbeliever [who performs his obligation in these matters].

We see that God wants us to look after our family. Remember a family that prays together stays together.
